Wednesday blues

The sky is blue, I am blue. Nothing unusual, just the usual shite I never seem to be able to escape from. Sigh.

In other news, I plan on buying a jam-jar full of salmon roe and eating it with a spoon (because a straw is just a little too gauche, even for me) sometime in the not-too-distant future. I am a little disappointed that it's illegal to imprt savruaga caviar into the country, but you know, my hunger for fish eggs knows no bounds, so Tasmanian salmon embryonic tissue will do.

A DnD get together tonight for most of those who will be playing in the campaign I'm running. All I can say is, EEEEEK! I have an idea for the first session, though, which neatly sets up the first campaign arc. Should be okay in the future. Tonight will be cheesey fantasy movies and discussions about concepts. Yay. Most warn those I've not run in a campaign before about my style...

I also forgot to mention that my little five-minute lessons for zenichi-naginata are slowly progressing. I've been briefly taught the first kata (which consists of one stomach skii answered with a throat skii - scary to do with a two meter long oak weapon). And, since we were doing an order to japan for stuff, I've also ordered my very own zenichi. Sure, it'll cost an ass-load, but it'll be worth it. Those things are so damn beautiful.

Better yet, this shipment will be sent to my work, so I can play with it straight away. Heeheehee.

I'll try to find some pics of zenichi to show you folks...

UPDATE

One of the least goofy-looking pics I could find, even if the flyer is in some strange european language...

*mental images of a shipment of weaponry arriving at the Dental Science labs*

Wouldn't that freak out the little kids? First trip to the dental hospital, and they see a van-load of sharp things on long poles being carted in via the loading bay... then try to calm them down enough to sit still in the chair...

Are you free lunchtime-ish next week, at some stage? Haven't seen you in ages, and I'm now living in the uni four (or more) days a week. Send me an email, if you're interested :)
