stuff what I am curious about

I want to know if it's worth my while and money getting the re-released Star Wars DVD set thingie. Riddle me this - can you still see the boxes around the tie-fighters?

Also, fame of the Isotope is spreading. People are bringing alcohol to me, just to experience the wonder. I want to know if I can somehow wrangle a cult out of this...

Also, the saga with the girl-who-went-away-without-telling-people-what-to-do-with-her-work is getting more and more drawn out. People want me to find out information that has nothing to do with me, and there is a decisive lack of communication and leadership. I want to know how to turn this to my advantage with the least possible effort.

No boxes - but almost all the model work has been replaced with CG - and it just isn't as gritty anymore.

I'll have to check the other DVDs I have to see what version of the movie is on there.

Oh, and it's the Greedo shoots first version.

Hmmm

Possible - I just saw that Greedo shot at all and got annoyed.

I didn't spot the blue boxes, Greedo and Han now shoot almost simultaneously, but there's still the incredibly bad Han's head move, end of ROTJ we have Haydn Christensen instead of old Annikin in suit as the ghost.

In its defence, it is great to be able to watch the films with no colour fuzz AT ALL, although they did blur out the "Made in England" on the interrogation droid syringe and one other place. That and the sound is spectacular.

If you do buy it, go to Target and get the free A New Hope poster.

Star Wars on DVD
Putting aside creative changes to the films, they have never looked so good. I was expecting them to look better than I'd seen before, but I wasn't prepared for exactly how much they'd managed to clean up and improve on the image. You couldn't tell from the quality of the presentation that these films were 27,24 and 21 years old.

Yes, they are worth getting. (Best price is about $67 from K-Mart)

Re: Star Wars on DVD
I was under the impression that was only with a coupon that was available in their catalogue from August... could be mistaken though.

Ask people on LJ to do your plotting and scheming for you.

...

Oh, right. Sorry about that.

Ummm, insufficient data, but my evil is at your disposal - wanna meet up for lunch sometime or something?

Meh, sure. Not tuesday next week (already booked) and fridays are tricky.

Hey, my time is worthless. Pick a day (and yeah, Fridays are usually bad for me, too - and Monday next week isn't doable thanks to Centrelink), and I'll be there if I can.
