Australia day - gamer style

So a group of us celebrated Australia day in the traditional gamer style - I slaved over a hot oven on a 36 degree day to make a lamb roast, then the boys came over and we played Dungeons and Dragons. We're such nerds.

The only thing we were missing was beer.

I'm actually quite excited about where my DnD game is headed these days (though I was too hot and tired to bother running any combat last night). The party has just hit 'interesting' times. A session report will go up in house_fiona sometime today for those who are interested...

In other news, while I like my new portable evaporative cooler, it tends to make the area it's in more humid and it is very loud. I had a fitful night's sleep as a result. Ah, well, I'll cope. Much better than if I didn't have the cooler, too. I must say, though, that I am not impressed with this relentless stream of days over 30 degrees. I demand two consecutive days in the low to mid 20s, and no more than three 30+ days in a row.

Still coughing a little bit, although it is slowly improving. No more quackery for me!
