Lost childhood dreams

I know it sounds weird, but since I was a giggling thirteen year old girl I always wanted to meet one actor in particular. Liz and I both had quite a crush on him, in fact. His name was Jonathan Brandis, and he played Lucas on "Sea Quest - DSV", a show which both Liz and I watched religiously for the two seasons it screened.

I feel a little guilty, then, that it took me so long to hear about this:

And, ironically, it was only from Wil Wheaton's blog. That's Mr Westley Crusher, StarTrek TNG to you.

Yeh, I heard about it just over a week ago, and it took me some time to actually verify it, since there was so little published about it. When I was around 13, I wished I was Jonathan Brandis, because it seemed that most girls my age had about the same reaction to him as you guys did. I dreamed of being a teen heartthrob. Apparently he even wrote some of the DSV episodes.

Yes ... although DSV is hardly a claim to fame I too wished I could be living las vida Brandis. The reported this on Sci-fi Wire yesterday, I think it was, and I was struck by nostalgia.
