I also got to play a little Final Fantasy X-2 last night, as well as watch it being played. Now... I'm in too minds. Part of the problem in living with Jye is that there are certain things that he hypes out of perspective (like the Matrix films). So he gives me these grand perceptions of what things should be, and I am left feeling a little disappointed that they are not as good as he lead me to believe.
That being said, I think Final Fantasy X-2 will be a good game, but maybe not as good as I had hoped it would be. The gameplay, structure and plot seem to be the sorts which would appeal to the FF Tactics Advance kind of crowd, not the FF VIII sort of crowd. Nothing wrong with that per se, but so far I am left with the feeling that while it is a good game, it just doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game yet. It may, I don't know. It seems all very light hearted at the moment, but I have seen shadows of deeper plot moving about, so maybe it'll end up being more than a Tetsuo Nomura version of Charlie's Angels.
One can hope.
Jye's work christmas party is tonight, so I get to kick back and do whatever. I suspect X-Men DVDs will be watched. And sleep, when the cool change comes through. I love the cool change. Love it.
