Lazy days

Training was really tough today - Mrs Nagae decided our new weekly warm-up will be sweeping the dojo floor, kendo style. Ouch.

Lunch with Jye's parents. Yay free food.

I also bought the first two Witch Hunter Robin OSTs. Woo.

And in four hours time I will have a turkey, roasted. I know you are all deeply jealous.

speaking of that, have you done isshu shiai/jigeiko before?

I have indeed! We've done it a few times for demonstrations at my dojo. The naginata defintely has a length advantage, but there is *always* the problem of preventing a kendo-ka from getting withing your distance. It's very, very good fun, though!

I'm trying to start kendo but there's no dojo's near where I am...I have the shinai and everything but the keiokogi and bogu (hope these are the right names) are way too expensive for me at the momment...but I'm still really wanting to give it a go...

Where are you based?
Don't worry about bogu yet, let that come.
Are you sure about not being near a dojo? Some of them hide very, very well...
But I highly recommend buying dougi (the blue outfit) and learning to wear it.
Putting it on is a mission in itself at first.
Let me know if I can help, I'm new myself and keen to get anyone involved.

Alas, it is only a size 38. On the plus side, I got it for only $10.95. Yay.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

So then next question, you like white meat or dark meat? (From the turkey that is.)
