We've been in Kyoto for a few days now, and I must say that it is probably the most beautiful city I have ever seen (or at least most of it), and I've been all around the world. I've taken a truly abusive number of pictures, and I've burnt out my rechargable batteries that I've been using in my camera.
We spent our first night in a ryokan in Gion, and I can safely say I've never been so indulged in my whole life. There is something beautiful in the simplicity, the dignity and the discretion that I find absoluety lovely.
Today I am hoping to go to the Fushimi-Inari shrine, just outside of Kyoto, which is the largest fox-god shrine in Japan. I'm very excited about this, as it is one of the things I've wanted to see the most here.
I haven't been able to get to my email on this computer (blocked site for security reasons - stupid hotmail), so I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell Jye for me that I survived my puffer-fish adventure. :)
