Stolen wholesale

Okay, so I'm bored and uncreative. This is text taken directly from matcha_pocky's eljay, but the basic principle is the same:

So here's the thing. I'm asking you to leave an anonymous comment contaning three clues as to your identity. I will then attempt to guess who the bloody hell you are. There's a possibility that none of you will reply due to extenuating coolness, but I'm encouraging you to transcend that and JUST TAKE IT ALL A LITTLE LESS SERIOUSLY, okay?

Yay for plagirism. So if any of you feel up to the challenge, meme me up, baby.

We have spoken in person several times, but I don't know if you know my name.

When we have spoken, I have maintained eye contact with you at all times and not dishonoured you by speaking to body parts other than your face.

Despite this, you appear to be unsettled by me when I do talk to you, which has been on average two to three times a year since about the year 2000, or possibly 2001.

Hmmm... this is hard, because I have an awful memory for names and I tend to be highly anxious around people I don't know very well (usually concealed with chirpiness).

Can I get another hint to help me out?
Another clue? All right then. I'm feeling generous this morning. - (Anonymous) - Jun. 7th, 2004 04:24 pm (UTC) - Expand

  • We first met (albeit, just long enough for introduction) in 1999, a flat in Melrose St, North Melbourne. I was playing in a game Loki was just starting.
  • I have played at least two of your Conquest games, Bishoujo Triad Ascension and the very fun Exalted freeform where I played the human head of security in a casino that was populated by Exalted. Much fun.
  • I saw you a week or two back hurrying in what I assume was the "away-from-work" direction and into Melbourne Central.

OK, the third one might be a giveaway, I'm a little short on creativity this afternoon. :)

I've seen and spoke to you every year for the last couple of conventions. I've played in heaps of your games and you a couple of mine...

Clue : I ran it, a werewolf / canadian murder mystery.

Are you the infamous Shane Ericson?

I like country music.
Custard is my favourite medium (which is a reference to a roleplaying clue).
Pagan as they come.

I first met your brother about ten years ago at Conquest, and you a few years later, though I haven't seen either of you in years.

I collected the pocket lint of a mundane one Discovery Day.

I took this (http://members.optushome.com.au/melbournian/s97orth.jpg) photo.

As an extra challenge guess my real name.
Jun. 7th, 2004 01:24 am (UTC)
I'm going to guess melbournian, although that's because I was cheaty at looked at the URL of the photo link.

I've narrowed you down to about 10 possible people, but give me another hint for your real name, and I'll see what I can do.

I have known you brother longer, but have known you both for some years.

You have posted a comment in my journal in the last week.

I was at your 21st and the most recent Thanksgiving.
Jun. 7th, 2004 01:33 am (UTC)
I've narrowed down the list, but there are still a few people it could be... but I'm going to say elindal.

*I did Jo-Do for a time at the same place you do Naginata
*I nearly never see you in person, but just did this weekend.

I first saw you - I don't know if you saw me or not - at a New Year's Eve party at the end of 1995.

I have fed your Seth Green obsession.

I once fell asleep during a con game you were running, but don't feel bad - I fell asleep in every session of that con except the two I was gm-ing myself.
Jun. 7th, 2004 01:19 am (UTC)
Oooo, this one is tough because it could be two people... but I'm going to go with unsworn_nomore, because he was more likely to have met/seen me when I was 15.

I introduced one of your ex-es to 2nd Floor in 1997

I was the third of three groupies and have the t-shirt to prove it

I was on the list!
Jun. 7th, 2004 01:22 am (UTC)
One of my ex-es, eh? That's an awfuly, awful lot of people to sift through... Tricky, very tricky... And 'the list' makes it a little obscure... which list could it be?

I'm going to assume that the ex in question wasn't an ex at the time, and if that were the case, then I would have to guess that you are lukeii.

hmmm... this is a tough one... I wonder who it could be?

Obviously, someone very pretty...
Jun. 7th, 2004 01:23 am (UTC)
1. I have a piece of your artwork that you gave me for my birthday one year
2. You cast me as the lone werewolf in a vampire freeform
3. There will come a day when I will beat you at DDR :)
Jun. 7th, 2004 01:26 am (UTC)
I know who you are, delwyn. I still have that sketch, I still feel bad for that character, and if you want to beat me, you'd better keep practicing. :)

  • I am far too idealistic for my own good.

  • I like swords

  • I have studied modern and ballroom dancing
  • miss_rynn
    Jun. 7th, 2004 05:33 am (UTC)
There is no such thing as being too idealistic, my dear tarleon, especially when one is something of a renaissance man such as yourself. Personally, I think all men should be trained in (or at least trained in the appreciation of) swords and dancing.

and haven't seen you in far too long!
    Jun. 7th, 2004 04:46 pm (UTC)
