That's a blue burmese that is! or at least something that looks remarkably like one!
That's hugo, my boy! (well, my mum's boy... or well, mum's his person.)
what's yours called?

(as you can see in my icon I also have a binka- she's a chocolate and she's coming to melb with me i hope)

That's Kilo, my parent's burmese. He is actually kind of a replacement for Loki (who died last year, but looked almost exactly the same). They also have a chocolate burmese called Skadi.

Those cats a very spoiled and very loved. Not a bad life, really. :)

well, hugo only has one leg, but other than that, the photo of Kilo could totally have been him! he thought he could out run cars. turns out, not so much. we did try to tell him this. he's supposed to be an indoor kitty, but he's fast. very fast.

he's also a totally maniulator which makes him even more spoiled than he would be otherwise!

Does Kilo talk incessantly when he's bored?

Hmmm. It's hard to tell from the small icon, but that looks like a sable Burmese, not a chocolate. Chocolate/champagne is a much lighter brown, with darker brown around the face and ears. My Butterbur here is a chocolate. Sable or Brown Burmese are a more uniform and darker brown.

Burmese are such gorgeous cats! They're also great for turning not-cat people into cat people. Especially when Butterbur plays fetch, and people realise they can have a gentle animal that they can play with AND who will just be companionable when that's what you want instead!

Hugo plays fetch as well! Even with three legs. when he was more kittenish it was incessant! He used to take marks off the bed! With Hairband which he used to nick from my bathroom drawer!

And I could never not have a burmese now.

and btw, Butterbar? *dies* ADORABLE

And this is another icon of Butterbur just so you can him a little better... :)

She is a darker colour than most chocolates, but she's not a brown. We had a brown and they're quite different. Browns, as you pointed out are uniform, Binka has a distinct facial point and is quite light on her belly. her underfur is also lighter, unlike on a brown.
She was ice coffee coloured when she was a kitten.
We joke that now she's a 70% cocoa
(i would say that she has probably picked up some strong brown burmese genes though- here's another link so you can see the variation - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/foxyoxy/photos/boo1small.jpg)

And I would have though (from the icon) that butterbar was a champagne. which would be totally cool, cos I don't know anyone witha champagne.

hmmm, just having a look now, but I was always under the impression that chocolate and champagne are two diff varieties, perhaps, like the breeding standards, it differs from america to UK.
(and hence, aus just does both)
hugo is a british standard and boo (binka) is an american standard and there's a lot of difference)

http://www.users.bigpond.com/incazo/bcsa/ (top of page two of photo gallery- that's just like my girl, but thinner!)

from what I've found most are the light champagne colour, but they range to a chestnut colour... prob only about 20% of them?

i don't know, i love her, that's all that matters right?

(and i apologize if i come off as defensive- I get like that sometimes. - forgive me *purr*

I thought champagne and chocolate were just two different names for the same 'dilute' colour.

From that link you sent, your Binka is definitely a chocolate, just a Dark Chocolate! :)

Of course the most important thing is just that you love her! She is a gorgeous cat, and deserving of love!
