Unicon game progress:

GM Information - in progress
Act One - 3/3 scenes completed!
Act Two - 4/4 scenes completed!
Act Three - 1/3ish scenes completed
Act Four - 0/6ish scenes completed
Player Handouts - Maps completed, in-game handouts completed, background/NPC list in progress
Character Sheets - 0/4 completed

The thing about this game that I am realising is that there is heaps of optional stuff, or rather, what the players do has a direct effect on what happens next. Very non-linear. So, really, the PCs will probably see only 2 or 3 scenes in act two, 1 scene in act three and 1 scene in act four. So that rounds out to be something like 6-7 scenes all up, with the option for more. Which is about (fingers crossed) 1.5 - 1.75 hours of gaming, leaving some faffing about time before and after the game so that it will still run under 2.25, giving the players a bit of time to get to their next session.

On the down side, it means that there is a whole lot more work that I need to do as a writer/GM.

All I can say is that I better not get any ungreatful players like I did at the last con I was at. I swear, someone seriously almost got smacked upside the head.

Outraged on your behalf
OMG!! I can't believe they did that! Telling you never to run another game!!! Even if they did think you were a new writer, what gives them the right to be so damned rude to anyone!!!!!!
I think if people are that rude you have every right to be firm back to them. If they complain in the future you should suggest that if they (unlike hundreds of others) don't like your style of writing they are perfectly welcome to play something else but while you thank them for their *constructive criticism* you will continue writing as your legions of fans expect, nay, demand. If they don't believe you ask for a show of hands in the rego hall. That'll shut them up!

Re: Outraged on your behalf
Actually, you're getting two stories mixed up;

1997 - I run my first con game and during the first session get told by one of the players to "never write another one".

2004 - I show up two hours late to reggo, and get some whiney Living Greyhawk players get pissy at me.

But even so, both these incidents were completely sucky. My only other really REALLY bad moment in my con gaming experience was totally my fault as a GM, and I take full responcibility for that.

We should compare our "Avoid Gming For This Person" lists some time. I have this sneaking suspicion there will be similarities.
